This review is specifically for the UK1 version, and for my occasional light-duty use, it has met my expectations very well. The welder is compact, lightweight, and easy to operate, with an intuitive display and a single control knob that makes adjusting settings simple even if you do not use the device every day. I appreciate that it includes useful accessories such as welding cables, replacement tips, nickel strip, a foot pedal for manual mode, a USB charging cable, and sandpaper for preparing surfaces. In testing, both the automatic and manual trigger modes worked as expected, and a gear setting of 60 produced good welds with the included 0.1 mm nickel strip on battery cells. The unit worked properly, and within reasonable limits I was able to get respectable results with decent welds. However, on two occasions it burned through the negative end of the battery and caused acid to leak, so it is important to be careful when changing the thickness of the metals being welded. In my case, I switched from a very thick soldered connection to a wire while using a higher amperage, and I did not reduce the setting enough. I am not completely sure how the adjustment levels are measured, and the very small manual that came with the spot welder does not explain this clearly. The leads are also extremely short and would be much more practical if they were at least twice as long, so I will probably make a new set because the included ones are almost unusable at this length. I tested the welder both cordless and plugged in, and it had enough capacity for several welds, making it useful for light work when handled carefully

I have used the style of spot welder that comes with a large battery pack and two long contact wires, and yes, this type of unit really does work. This spot welder saved me a huge amount of time while rebuilding my DeWalt lithium battery packs, delivering fast, easy, and solid spot welds. The battery life was also impressive, because after completing three battery packs, which included around 30 cells and more than 60 connections with multiple welds each, the unit still had charge remaining and continued to work properly. It did get warm in my hand during faster use, and I reached the thermal shutdown limit once, but it only stopped welding for a few minutes before cooling down and continuing without problems. This was not a major issue for me, since I used the cooling time to solder the balance leads. Overall, I really like this welder, and if I needed it for continuous production, I would consider buying a second one so I could switch between them and keep welding nickel strip throughout the day

This is my first spot welder, and after testing it, I found it simple to use and good for starter-level battery pack work. The unit has power “gears” up to 9.9, but for most of my testing, the maximum setting was the most useful, especially with the included nickel-plated connector strip, which welded well with one zap at full power. I also tried a narrower nickel strip that seemed thicker and harder to weld, and after experimenting with two zaps, I had better results making multiple single-zap passes at full power. Thinner NiMH battery tabs needed less power, with one zap around level 5 working well, but thicker strips already attached to some 18650 cells were more difficult for this unit to handle. After a full charge, I ran several tests and then welded a small 9S battery pack, completing at least 50 welds while the screen still showed 100% stored energy, which was impressive. Overall, I am satisfied with it as a first spot welder, and my best tip for beginners is to use a longer zap delay, around two seconds, and press the leads very firmly against the strip for more consistent welds

This is a fantastic spot welder for my hobby work, and after returning a cheaper machine that fell apart after the first job, I have been very pleased with this unit. One of the first things I noticed was the quality of the probes, which are flexible, easy to position, and much more comfortable to use than the stiff and bulky probes on my previous machine. The power has also been impressive, as I used it to build a battery pack with 0.2 mm x 8.0 mm pure nickel strip, and once I dialed in the correct settings, it welded perfectly. The external 9V 15A power brick feels more capable than the one on my previous unit, the fan runs quietly, and the overall fit and finish are very good, with useful extras such as a file, nickel strip, a battery-building jig, and replacement tips included. The color LCD interface works well, although I would prefer a control knob instead of repeatedly pressing buttons to move through the settings. The manual is poor and could explain the options much better, but after some experimentation, the welder is easy enough to understand, and despite being more expensive than many alternatives, I feel it was worth the purchase after successfully building my first battery pack
